As a Protected Trust Deed if a form of insolvency, debts that are not affordable to repay will be written off (up to 75% of unsecured debt can be written off).   • Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS)

  • The Debt Arrangement Scheme (DAS) was launched in 2004 by the
    Scottish Government as a successful debt repayment programme that allows Scottish residents to repay their full debt over a manageable period of time, with the benefits of freezing interest & charges, protecting an individuals assets, preventing legal action. As of 4th November 2019, no individual in Scotland will be charged administration fees for a DAS, instead the creditor is charged any fees incurred by a Money Adviser.

  • Sequestration (Full administration bankruptcy)

  • This could be an option for you if you live in Scotland, have £1,500 or more of unsecured debt and are unable to pay your debts as they fall due. You cannot apply if you have been made Bankrupt in the last 5 years.
    There is an application fee of £200 which is payable to the Accountant in Bankruptcy.
